Terminology
Club - Line Dance or Country Music Club
Bar/Pub - Venue playing country music, but not designated as club
Instructor - Certified by governing body to allow teaching
Social - Line Dance event(s) that do not run on a frequent basis
Touring Act - Act residing outside of Scotland, but within the United Kingdom and Ireland
Solo of the Year
To qualify in Solo of the Year you must reach the following requirements:
- Hold a permanent residence address in Scotland
- Perform at least 6 gigs as a Solo in Scottish clubs or events held in Scotland per year
Duo of the Year
To qualify in Duo of the Year you must reach the following requirements:
- Hold a permanent residence address in Scotland
- Perform at least 6 gigs as a Duo in Scottish clubs or events held in Scotland per year
Band of the Year
To qualify in Band of the Year you must reach the following requirements:
- Hold a permanent residence address in Scotland
- Perform at least 6 gigs as a Band in Scottish clubs or events held in Scotland per year
Newcomer of the Year
To qualify in Newcomer of the Year you must reach the following requirements:
- Hold a permanent residence address in Scotland
- Perform at least 6 gigs as a Solo in Scottish clubs or events held in Scotland per year
- Have played on the SCM scene for no more than 5 years
Touring Act of the Year
To qualify in Touring Act of the Year you must reach the following requirements:
- Hold a permanent residence address outside of Scotland
- Perform at least 6 gigs in Scottish clubs or events held in Scotland per year
Singer/Songwriter of the Year
To qualify in Singer/Songwriter of the Year you must reach the following requirements:
- Hold a permanent residence address in Scotland
- Perform at least 6 gigs in Scottish clubs or events held in Scotland per year
- Written or collaborated on at least one song in the year of the nomination - link to song will be required upon nomination, failure to do so will result in nomination being removed
Club of the Year
To qualify in Club of the Year you must reach the following requirements:
- Be located in Scotland
- Showcase, as a minimum, SIX LIVE ACTS per year. Further nights can be any entertainment of your choice
- A Line Dance Social does not meet the requirements for Club as they are held on an irregular frequency and therefore does not qualify for Club of the Year
- Bars/Pubs do not qualify for Club of the Year due to the irregular frequency at which they showcase Live Country Music.
- Pop-up Hoedown's also do not qualify
Festival/Event of the Year
To qualify in Festival/Event of the Year you must reach the following requirements:
- Be located in Scotland
- Organise, as a minimum, one gathering showcasing live music from Scottish Acts (Not required to be completely Scottish, can include Touring Acts)
Instructor of the Year
To qualify in Instructor of the Year you must reach the following requirements:
- Hold a permanent residence address in Scotland
- Be certified by any of the UK Governing bodies to allow you to teach Line Dance in the UK
- Run at least one Line Dance Class located in Scotland
